Someone's testing me!

Well, last nite I got the test. The wake-up-and-help-me-cuz-it's-1AM test. And 2AM. And why not on your way to work too....and I am now a firm believer that everything happens for a reason.

My poor, poor, 96 pound puppy Roody is sick. He left two big piles of vomit in the living room and one little one on the landing for me when I came home from work yesterday. Imagine, his whole food bowl slightly softened and regurgitated on my living room carpet. Yuck. By the time I got that cleaned up and dinner made, I was ready for bed. I woke up to that sound....the sound of a dog getting ready to vomit.....and after the whole carpet steaming excursion from a few hours ago, I did not want to do it again at 1AM. So I jumped out of bed to try and throw a towel down in front of him. Didn't get too far. My first barefoot step out of bed landed right into another pile of vomit. I did one of those laughs that turns into a cry, and then woke Aaron up to help me clean up the mess. We got the carpet steamer out again and cleaned up the 3 piles....then went back to bed. Around 2:30AM I heard it again, I hate being a light sleeper. But this time I turned the light on and grabbed a shirt out of the laundry basket just in time to slip it under his mouth. Just a little bile this time.....

I had to take the morning off from work to get Roody to the vet. He has an enflamed stomach, and I have to feed him rice and boiled hamburger for a few days with his new doggy prescription. But only after he got two shots and I got a$120.00 vet bill.

So, back to the "everything happens for a reason." I am now thinking that a hungry, crying baby with or without a poopy diaper might not be so bad. I am now a little more prepared for those 1AM wake-up calls. Now I just need to figure out how to get through the day a little bit more tired than usual.

Ok, the piles of dog vomit were hard enough to take, but the vet bill???? Yikes!

So glad I have no pet right now, I have gotten past all the chewing, and shedding and vomiting....
Hope your puppy is feeling better.

Babies are much nicer....and they don't have dog breath!

LOL Sara! I'm so glad I'm not the only one who tries to look for SOMETHING for them to throw up in when they do that! The other day I was trying to shove Gracie's head in the trash can while she threw up and she kept looking at me all confused. ;) We had to do the rice and hamburger thing with Maya too when she was a puppy. Hope Roody's feeling better!

At least babies wear diapers. Hopefully your baby won't leave little "piles" here and there for you. Although if she's anything like your aunt, expect the unexpected! ;)
